The Beginning
Two Encounters That Changed His Direction
Krasi Jeliazkov was born on 21 December 1958 in Varna. He became fascinated by the guitar at the age of 13, inspired by friends in his neighbourhood.
Meeting the well-known Varna teachers Lyubomir Haralampiev, known as The Captain, and Alexander Petkov played a defining role in his life. One inspired his love of classical guitar, while the other led him towards blues, rock and jazz.
Curiosity about different styles gradually developed into a distinctive performing voice.

With the help of a tape recorder, Krasi studied the performances of Andrés Segovia, Django Reinhardt, Pat Martino and other great musicians. His constant thirst for knowledge took him through rock, blues, jazz, gypsy jazz and acoustic music.
